256pp, with E H Shephard's delightful line drawing illustrations throughout. In green cloth-covered boards with gilt decoration and lettering on spine (boards are strong and square, small & mild mark on front board, some mild flecking on text block edges). Internally neat, clean and bright, barring a small mark on the front free endpaper. An old Bodleian Library postcard, showing a holograph of Grahame's First Whisper of Wind in the Willows, has need neatly pasted onto the rear free endpaper; and a clipping with a poem praising Wind in the Willows on the rear pasted down. In its original dust jacket (showing a little shelf wear at edges), now protected in a Bordart- style protective wrapper, fitted without the use of tape or adhesives. A lovely, vintage copy of this classic children's tale.
