The front free endpaper is scuffed through (possibly from removal of a library lending sheet). In its original dust jacket, heavily rubbed at edges, worn, soiled on verso, frayed with minor loss at spine ends. Walter Smith is an ordinary man, non-entity, until he wins the Football Pools.
