Approximately A1-sized technical drawing/blueprint, folded, of a Tilling Stevens Petrol-electric Fire Engine qwith 30 feet extension ladder and hook ladders, dated 1919 and scaled at 1.5 inches to 1 foot. A little worn at edges and rubbed on folds, small area of scuffing towards lower edge, not affecting drawing, and a couple of small faded spots. A little spotted and smudged on reverse. Stamp from Tilling-Stevens Ltd, dated 15 October 1919, on reverse. Â
Tilling-Stevens manufactured buses and other commercial vehicles at its factory in Maidstone, Kent. Founded in 1897, the company came to specialise in petrol-electric vehicles. It was eventually bought up by the Rootes Group in the 1950s.
