Lightly bumped and worn edges. Endpapers just starting to fox and tan. Internally very neat, clean, bright and tight. Dust jacket has light shelf wear; chipping to edges; 2 diagonal creases on lower front; almost disconnected at front joint, shelf wear. A collaboration between "a publisher, a typographer-lay-out-man, an art critic and a photographer". Emmy Andriesse died before seeing the finished product. Contains photographs of Van Gogh's paintings facing photographs of the subjects and locations of his work, using people resembling the original models.
