A four volume matching set of Alexandre novels, all published between 1952 and 1955. In deep green cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering on spine. Top edges sprayed green. Decorated endpapers. Pen sketch portrait frontispiece in each volume. 12mo. Cloth gently rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends. All internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In worn and slightly faded dust jackets, rubbed at edges and lightly chipped around corners and spine ends. A few marks and spots. Louise De Valliere and the Man in the Iron Mask have some loss and short tears at spine heads, with the latter also having a short tear from the top edge on the verso, crack along leading edge and small paper scar on front panel. A nice vintage set with the patina of use and age.
