Volumes uniformly bound in blue cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on spine. 8vo. Boards worn and marked, rubbed and rounded on corners and spine ends, call labels taped to spines. Ex lending library with usual markings on endpapers in each volume, and stamp opposite title page. Lower page corners a little curled in volume too. A tad loose. One of the more important studies of Christopher [Kit] Marlowe, expanded from an original attempt to identify the sources of Tamburlaine towards something which attempts to convey almost everything known about the Elizabethan playwright and poet and his mysterious early death in 1593. Hard to find title.
