[1940]. Unpaginated, circa 120pp, colour plate frontispiece and with numerous monochrome and two-tone illustrations, all by Cecily Le Mesurier. In pictorial paper-covered boards with linen over spine. 4to. Boards rubbed at edges, a few mild marks, significantly rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends. Text block edges darkened. Internally a hint of page toning and some faint and occasional spotting, slightly worn. The illustrations are charming. A nice copy of this now hard to find volume of stories for young boys.
