310pp. The text block of this volume is, I suspect, from the Bantam Books paperback edition, which came out a few years after the first edition and was reprinted through the 1950s and 1960s. 12mo. This particular volume has however been privately rebound (minus the paperback covers and prelim pages etc) in half-leather over blue mottled leatherette(?). Four raised bands and gilt titles to spine. Decorative endpapers and stippled upper edge. Boards a little rubbed, especially around spine. There's a small bruise on the paper on the half-title page (probably resulting from a label being removed). Pages trimmed and tanned throughout. Still an attractive volume and a unique curiosity.
