A young Australian returns to his homeland after a visit to England in the late 19th century; but the star of the novel is his gay, rumbustious and unrepentant old father, whose colourful yarns of his adventures in the New South Wales outback at the turn of the century are wonderfully authentic if at times biased in his favour. A now hard to find title, especially in its original dust jacket.
