[1915] First English edition. Original deep blue cloth boards, with elaborate blind tooling on front and gilt titles and decoration to spine. 12mo. Portrait of Dumas to frontispiece. Introduction by R S Grant, who translated this edition from the original French. Boards a bit rounded at corners rubbed and scuffed at edges, with ridge on back but still attractive. Mild tanning to endpapers. There's a tiny pin prick on the front which shows through on the next few pages. Binding starting, but still solid. Contains Dumas's memoirs, largely his recollections living through European conflicts with Prussia and his mother's fears of both the Russian and Prussian troops and Napoleon. Part of the publisher's "International Library" series. 0
