Initial lettering by T R Marquoid and T W Reeve, Chapter Headings decorated by Jules Cheret and W J Allen, engravings executed by J C Cooper. Bound by Virtue & Co, City Road, London. Inscribed by the author to Mr and Mrs Lower, Christmas 1866. Previous owner's name on front endpaper. First signature partially detached but holding , else internally neat, crisp and clean.
