Volume is undated but likely circa 1875. Gift inscription on half title page, dated 1878. viii, 654pp, with mounted sepia photographic frontispiece and eleven further similar plate illustrations. Red page borders. In fully bound in soft green leather with black and gilt rules, gilt lettering, five panelled spine, all edges gilt, satin ribbon marker bound in (boards are a little rubbed a edges, rounded on corners and spine ends, spine sunned, a scattering of tiny white marks on front panel). Internally some faint, very occasional spotting, else neat, clean, bright and tight. 8vo. A handsome volume with a pleasing patina.
