The Poetical Works of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Not dated but circa 1890. x, 630pp. Bound in full red leather with gilt rules and lettering. All edges stained red. Inner gilt dentelles, silk moire endpapers with gilded decorations, portrait photograph of Longfellow for frontispiece and eleven further photographic illustrations, tipped in and tissue-guarded. All photographs by Valentine and Sons of Dundee. Boards worn at edges and around spine joints, slightly frayed at ends of a sunned and marked spine. Small tear in front paste down endpaper. Two previous owners' names on front free endpaper, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. The preface states that this edition has been "revised and corrected by comparison with his last American Edition, in which he made many emendations; and including his earliest and latest Poems, among which are several that have not previously appear in any other edition of this popular author's works".
