The sixth volume of an eight volume set resulting from the largest county survey undertaken to date by the English Place-Name Society, this present volume deals with the place-names of Craven, with the upper valleys of the Aire and the Wharfe, and Bowland, extending through Ribblesdale and Lonsdale to the mountains of the far north-west of the Riding to the borders of Westmoreland. The principal towns are Keighley, Skipton, Settle and Sedbergh.
