The Philosophy of the Beautiful
xxx, 190pp. With notes and introduction by Jesse Cato Daniel. In brown cloth-covered boards with paper title label on spine (boards a little worn, rounded at corners and spine ends, cloth cracked at base of spine). Previous owner's name, dated 1906, on front paste down, else generally neat, clean and fresh internally. The book has been bumped on the lower edge, causing a small area of crumpling at the base of the first 30 or so pages. In the year 1818, Victor Cousin delivered a course of lectures on the True, the Beautiful and the Good: this volume is a translation of that part of the course which is entitled The Beautiful.
