First edition.  x, 216pp, with illustrations in text.  Blue-cloth covered boards with gilt lettering on the spine.  8vo.  Cloth very slightly pushed at spine ends.  Internally neat, clean, bright and tight throughout.  In its original dust wrapper, not price clipped, very slightly bumped on extreme edges.

This volume reproduces the text of three periodicals which together chart the life and career of Ferdinand Pelzer (1801-1864), the German musician who became one of the most important guitarists in London in the early half of the 19th century.  Pelzer, hugely popular in his time, was also influential in the development of choral singing and the singing class movement.
