The Mystery of 31 New Inn
Undated volume but published prior to the 1943 Hodder edition which came in red covers and after 1923, as The Cat's Eye, published in 1923 is mentioned in the list of author's other titles: an early edition but certainly not a first edition (the first edition of this title was 1912, being one of Austin Freeman's earlier works). 318pp. In greenish cloth-covered boards with plain linen over spine, with white paper spine label. 12mo. Boards are worn, rubbed and rounded at corners and one spine tips and joints, paper title label chipped and faded. Internally the pages are browned at edges, with some faint, occasional spotting, short rip in rear hinge. Slanted volume. One of R Austin Freeman's earlier detective fiction novels, the fourth to feature Dr Thorndyke.
