Four issues of The Monthly Review, from May to August 1840 inclusive, bound into a single volume. 696pp. Half bound in brown calf's leather over marbled boards, gilt lettering and decoration on spine. All edges sprayed blue. 8vo. Boards heavily worn, leather missing from corners, rubbed around spine joints and leather crack along length of spine. Front boards a little loosened, affecting first three leaves. Text block edges soiled and dust marked. Some spotting and soilong on first and last few leaves, pp. 269-272 detachedd but present. Binding brittle but holding.
