Very heavy wear and fading to this book, bottom half of the backstrip missing, the top portion is considerably faded with loss at top end. Boards are considerably faded and worn with all edges and corners rubbed and rounded. Text block edges tanned and dusty. Internally the front and back hinges are stretched, some gutters are strained throughout; very loose. Pages age toned with varying degrees of foxing throughout. However it contains many beautiful black and white engraved plates and illustrations, lots of articles, poetry, puzzles, letters and more.
As a magazine it gives a fascinating insight to life in the late 1800s.
