In King Street, Canterbury, there is a remarkable building in an Egyptian style. Now in the care of King's School, it was formerly the city's Jewish Synagogue, opened in 1848. This volume, which traces the fortunes of the Canterbury Jewish congregation, is based on documents discovered t the Mocatta Library in London, and contains a series of genealogical tables concerning prominent Jewish families in East Kent in the period.
