1st edition in book form (The House in Cornwall was first published in serial form in The Girl's Own Paper in 10 parts between October 1939 and July 1940). Blue cloth-covered boards with gilt titles to spine. 12mo. Boards rubbed at edges and rounded on corners, heavily sunned on spine. Front free endpaper and rear free endpaper missing. Previous owner's neat inscription on half-title page. Title page has small area in centre which is rubbed with small (c3mm) hole). General reading wear and occasionally spotting, especially on endpapers. Square and binding still tight. Not in what would generally be considered collectible condition but this is a hard to find volume in this edition so will serve well as either a reading copy or collection filler until a better copy might be found.
