Covers are rubbed and worn at edges, soiled, rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends. Front hinge partially cracked, with volume a little loosened. Faint toning in margins of first and last few leaves else internally neat and clean. A pastoral drama first published in 1725. Later translated into a ballad opera, some of songs from that opera and reproduced here with lyrics and musical scores set among the text. Ramsey was a Scottish poet, playwright, publisher and impresario, a leading light of the early Scottish Enlightenment. This is a deluxe edition of the work he is now best remembered for.
