First edition, first printing. 158pp. Black and white frontispiece and occasional line drawings in text. Red cloth-covered boards. 8vo. Spine ends lightly bumped and faded at the heel. Minor toning on endpapers and a small stamp on the back pastedown endpaper but otherwise interior is clean, neat, bright and tight. Dust jacket has some shelf wear and chipping along edges, joints and spine ends. There are colour images on the reverse of the dust jacket, having the appearance of galley proofs from another publication - possibly the publisher saving paper by reusing, the book was published in the era of paper rationing during the second world war.
