56pp, plus two genealogical tables relating to the Roos family. One of forty copies printed. Card wrappers with yapped edges (wrappers rubbed, chipped and faded at edges, small hole on back, but basically still strong and binding holding). There is a bookplate affixed to the first leaf, and some minor occasional spotting, else internally fresh and tidy. A detailed account of the history of the ancient market town of Ripley, just north of Harrogate, from its first mention in the Domesday Book to towards the end of the 15th century, with a special focus on the association of the town with Ingilby Family of Ripley Castle and the Roos family who had some claim to local property.
