First edition. [6] 1-52pp. Title page preceded by two plate illustrations, one showing diamond cuts, the other hand-coloured showing examples of precious stones. Engraved frontispiece. Small volume with cloth-covered boards and paper title label (boards faded, especially around spine, and gently rubbed at edges, small nick in cloth on spine, a few mild marks). Internally bright, neat and clean barring some spotting on endpapers, previous owner's name neatly written on front endpaper and hints of toning and fingering to pages. A 'cabinet' of gem stones, with descriptions, followed by an account of extraordinarily large diamonds and coloured stones, a commercial history of rough diamonds, a description of the regalia of Scotland, a section of the diamonds of the East Indies (proclaimed to the finest), and a final section of the manner of fishing for pearls in the East Indies.
