The Bill on London: Or the Finance of Trade By Bills of Exchange
2nd, revised edition (1959). 96pp. 8vo. Blue cloth boards (just a little rubbed at edges). Some toning on endpapers, and previous owner's name. Complete with full set of inserts as issued on publication inside rear cover, which are usually lacking. In paper dust jacket (slightly rubbed at edges and minor loss at top of rear). Handsome copy and rare to find with inserts. The Bill of Exchange is one of the oldest instruments of credit, tracing origins back to classical history. This book gives brief history but is largely focussed on their use in the City of London in modern times. This heavily revised second edition reflects changes made to financial regulation in the City of London in the middle of the 20th century.
