Internally neat, tidy and clean barring a previous owner's name on endpaper and another on the first title page, where there is also a stamp which partially obscures the title. Priced catalogue for Walker's British Classics series at rear. This is valuable in that it gives a priced catalogue of the first collection of titles published in Walker's notable series. Based on the principles and format of Elzevir's Continental editions, Walker's 'British Classics' aimed 'to form a complete library of standard English literature. Titles in this series, including this one, are now hard to find.
