From the mid 19th century to the 1960s, scattered Anglo-saxon burials were discovered by chance on the lower slopes of Polhill, in the parish on Dunton Green, near Sevenoaks. In 1967 an excavation was carried out, revealing a further 68 graves. In 1982 it became clear that the construction of the M25 motorway would affect the site and further rescue archaeology was carried out, finding some further 50 graves. This report explains and records the findings of both those excavations.
