The Antikythera mechanism is an Ancient Greek hand-powered model of the solar system, and the oldest example of an analogue computer which could be used to compute astronomical positions and eclipses decades in advance. Lost beneath the waves for hundreds of years, it was recovered in 1901 and is now on display in the Greek National Museum in Athens.
