A 1960s visitor guide to Swaledale and the surrounding areas in Yorkshire, including a reprint of Captain Harland's 1870 poem, Reeth Bartle Fair : Harland composed the poem in an attempt to preserve the local dialect which he believed was being corrupted by the infiltration of miners from Durham and other 'foreign places'.
