St Ives, Being the Adventures of a French Prisoner in England
First UK edition, first state, with printing error in the last line on page 237. Preceded by publication in the USA. In black cloth-covered boards, with gilt titles front and spine. Fore-edge deckled. Tall 12mo. Boards lightly rubbed on edges and joints, rounded at corners and spine tips, a few mild blemished. Text block edges a little darkened. Gutter against half-title cracked, loosening the front free endpaper and next leaf. Rear hinge cracked. A little loose. Incomplete at the author's death, the novel was finished by Arthur Quiller-Couch, drawing on Stevenson's outlines.
