Historical romance novel telling the love story of Malcolm, King of the Scots and his Queen, Margaret. Jane Conway was the pen name of novelist Helen Rees, the daughter of a Scottish country doctor. She is perhaps best remembered for the novels she co-authored with Anne Pedlar. An aviator herself, she married pilot John Llewellyn Rees in 1939. Rees was killed a year later in a flying accident and after his death Helen became convinced that she remained in communication with him - transcripts survive of their 'automatic writing' conversations. Spiritualism and contact with the dead became a feature of some of her post-war fiction.
