Sexual Anomalies and Perversions: Physical and Psychological Development and Treatment, a Textbook for Students, Psychologists, Criminologists, Probation Officers, Judges and Educationalists
First edition, first impression. [1935]. In brown cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on spine. 8vo. Cloth a little faded, mottled on upper portion of front and rear panels, spine faded. Front hinge cracked. Endpapers mildly spotted and toned, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original dust jacket, a little faded, gently rubbed on edges, a few spot marks and slightly sunned spine. Dust jacket now protected in an archival quality Mylar wrapper, fitted without the use of tape or adhesives. Some portions of this book had been previously published in German but the majority was gathered from unpublished papers, lectures by Dr Hirschfeld's students. Magnus Hirschfeld (1868-1935) was a German physician and sexologist, an outspoken advocate for sexual minorities and homosexual and transgender rights, and targeted by the Nazis for being Jewish and gay. A hard to find title, especially as a true first edition (a limited edition published in 1936 is a little easier to locate).
