[1947] 64pp, with black and white and colour illustrations, by Nora Unwin, throughout. Illustrated endpapers. In yellow cloth boards with red lettering (boards are worn and mildly soiled, lightly rubbed on edges, cloth blown around spine, and loosened from the text block). Endpapers gutters cracked, with webbing visible, front free endpaper creased, with previous owner's inscription on verso, pages have signs of fingering, and there are a couple with short, closed tears at edges, but generally pages clean and bright. 4to. We would not usually offer a book in such condition, but it is one of the harder to find Blyton titles; this copy may serve to fill a gap in a Blyton collection until a finer copy can be sourced and afforded. Blyton and Unwin collaborated to create a beautiful book demonstrating in spades that mother nature provides glorious flora and fauna in every season of the year.
