The classical scholars who wrote about political parties tended to see them primarily as organisations, arguing that in order to understand and explain their activities and transformations, it was necessary to analyse their organisational core. This perspective was abandoned by later scholars, but in this innovative book, Panebianco takes the theme up again. Hard to find title.
