It is impossible to discuss Arthur Pratt's poetry without reference to his originality, grasp of the subject and deep feeling for nature. A native of Norfolk and inhabitant of Sussex for over 50 years, he had ample opportunity of revelling in the beauty of the countryside, especially the Downs in his adopted county. Such fine details are shown in many of his nature verses it would be hard to excel and verse lovers will find not only pleasure but help in solving their own doubts.
