In grey cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on spine (boards are strong and square, just a little faded and rubbed at extreme edges). Previous owner's gift inscription on front paste down endpaper, mild crease over corner of front free endpaper, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Text block edges flecked. In its original worn dust jacket, bruised with minor loss at head of spine, a little offset, some spotting on inner flaps. A detailed, sympathetic account of the use and role of pigeons in the two world wars. Chapter headings include Pigeon War Committee, The Naval Pigeon Service, The Intelligence Service, etc. Slim 8vo.
