Dust jacket has very light shelf wear, chipping to edges, mirrors book damage, price clipped. 8vo. Illustrated with b/w photographs. Includes service details of those who attended the Phillips Academy and served in the Second World War. Loosely laid in are two letters from Leonard James (the editor) to Mr Laurence W Viney in England - the first letter dated Feb 6th 1947 refers to a photograph of Mr Viney's family that Leonard James wants to use in the book - the letter is signed and the photograph referred to was used in this book. The second letter from Leonard James dated May 5th 1947 refers to a citation, a package and a book etc again signed by James. The third letter dated June 6th 1978 is from Mr Frederick Harrison at the academy to "Ted" telling him that Larry has never had a copy of Phillips Academy and does he, Ted, know where a copy may be found. Finally completing the story there is a dedication written on the front free endpaper reading 'To Lawrence Viney from Ted Harrison, June 1978'.
