Undated (circa 1940s). viii, 344pp. Green cloth-covered boards; black titles on spine. 8vo. Sun-fading to spine and boards, titles faded. Shelf wear, mottling and stains to boards. Spine ends bumped with minor loss. Front bott om corner bumped, cloth worn through; remaining corners rubbed. Slightly cocked. Small split on rear joint. Dusty top text block edge; remaining edges tanning; some light soiling. Endpapers just starting to tan and foxing. Pages iv and v appear to have something laid-in which tanned pages; quite possibly a newspaper clipping. Neat, clean, tight and bright internally. Green was an American novelist whose works often focussed on ideas of faith and belief. This is an English translation of a selection of entries of Julien Green's mammoth 19 volume autobiography published in French. Green was christened 'Julian' but his publisher's encouraged him to use 'Julien'.
