16pp stapled booklet, printed card wrappers. One engraved plate, depicting Farrah's Harrogate Toffee shop, 1840. Rubbed and soiled at edges. Binding fragile. Reprinted from 'Truth'. The recollections of a young man visiting Harrogate and friends in 1913, with descriptions of the town and activities, such as golfing and shows at the Kursaal, perhaps just as interesting for its commentary on the coming of war: "ill news given out of the enemy last night invading the eastern counties with his air ships, and many killed and wounded. All manner of rumours afloat of parts of London bombarded and divers houses and buildings wrecked" etc. Hard to find. Only recorded copy held as part of the Sheppard Pamphlets collection at Leeds University Library.
