Complete in two volumes. [1848-50]. Volume I: 164pp, 64 tissue-guarded steel engraved plates, engraved extra title page and printed title page (some copies with the engraved extra title page appear not to have a printed title page as well). Volume II: 188pp, 72 tissue-guarded steel engraved plates, engraved title page and printed title page. Uniformly bound pair, bound in full green morocco leather, with gilt rules, decorations and lettering five raised bands to spine, all edges gilt, inner gilt dentelles. Boards rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends, a few small chips in leather at edges, and small scuffs on surface; volume I has a small but severe indentation on front, pressing through to first few pages. Possibly replacement endpapers. Internally neat, clean, fresh and even pages. There is some faint, scattered spotting on a few pages. Magnificent set, handsome.
