176pp. Illustrated. In red cloth boards (well rubbed, especially around the spine, corners rounded). Gutter a little strained between frontispiece and title page else internally neat, clean and tight. Originally published to interest older children in the craftsmanship of plays by showing how stories in narrative form can be turned into plays, but now also serves as a remarkable record of children's activities in the early part of the 20th century and an unusual perspective on the history of juvenile theatre and drama. Nice little volume and now not so easy to find, despite being reprinted numerous times in the first half of the 20th century.
