Paper and Its Uses: A Treatise for Printers, Stationers and Others (Volumes I and II)
Complete in two volumes. Volume One: x, 176pp, vi, [xii], with monochrome plate frontispiece, further monochrome plate illustrations and three large, folding out plate illustrations. The final section of xii leaves compromises samples of different papers. Volume Two: viii, followed by 157 samples of different papers inspersed with occasional fold out tables of explanation. Both volumes uniformly bound in red cloth-cloth-covered boards with black lettering front and spine. 12mos. Boards worn and a little soft, rubbed on edges and joints, rounded at cornes and spine tips. Volume two also has an area of wear and fading around the lower leading corner. Some minor bleeding on upper text block edge of volume one. Volume one a little loosened. Both volumes internally neat, clean and bright with occasional signs of use and age. The publisher's name inserted on labels on title pages.  A invaluable resource on paper and paper-making, including comprehensive guides to paper-sizes and grades. One of the best guides to and discriptors of paper in its various forms I have ever seen - indispensible for paper and book collectors.
