Half bound in leather over marbled card (boards worn, rubbed at edges, lightly chipped at edges, crack in leather at head of spine). The last ten or so pages are absent; text complete up to 100pp, but contents page indicates that pagination should go up to 107 pages at least. Includes map of area and two tissue guarded engravings, one showing the public sulphur walls and the other Cheltenham Pump Room. Internal binding fragile in places and minor spotting but basically good, clean and square. Sketches the history of Harrogate from the earliest times to the mid 19th century, with various additional directories and details of local sites and surrounding towns and villages.
