Quarter-bound in yellow cloth over blue marbled paper-covered boards, gilt titles on printed blue spine label, gilt coat of arms on front; top text block edge sprayed black; numerous maps and line drawn illustrations. 8vo. Lightly rubbed and bumped spine ends, corners rubbed and rounded. Text block edges just starting to tan and fox. Internally a very neat, clean, bright and tight volume. Dust jacket has moderate shelf wear, chipping and tears to edges, mirrors book damage, not price clipped. The biographer, the Seventh Marquess of Anglesey, has made adroit use of letters and other unpublished material in a narrative that is full of dramatic, humorous and romantic incident against a background of social, political and personal situations.
