Elegant bookplate of Robert Washington Oates (likely the respected antiquarian book and antiques dealer who secured the home of Gilbert White as a permanent memorial to the author and naturalist, and brother of Captain Lawrence Oates, a member of Scott's Antarctic Expedition).
