1st ed, 1st imp [1949]. Maroon publisher's cloth boards (edge worn, rounded at corners and spine ends, mottled and a few marks). Lending sheet on front free endpaper, no other library markings. Internally neat and clean barring occasional spotting. In its original worn and edge-rubbed dust jacket (repaired short tear around head of spine, tape reinforcements on interior). Dust jacket now in archival-quality mylar wrapper to protect & prolong the life of the jacket. It is not adhered to the book or to the dust jacket. Morland was a prolific mystery writer, using several pen names and featuring a few recurrent detectives. This novel features Detective Inspector Andrew McMurdo, who goes to work after Eddie Stavanger is murdered at the edge of the River Thames. Hard to find title from this popular author.
