Eight volumes from Macmillan's Pocket Wessex Edition of the works of Thomas Hardy. 1930s reprints. Uniformly bound in maroon cloth with gilt lettering and gilt tooled decorations. Top edges gilt. 12mos. Cloth is a little worn, some mild marks, with a patina of use, generally rubbed and rounded on corners and spine ends, somewhat sunned spines. Some mild marks and toning to text block edges. Some of the volumes have a previous owner's name inked on prelim pages and some have a little toning on endpapers, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. A nice, vintage set with the air of being pre-loved.
