In paper-covered boards with gilt lettering (boards are strong, square, clean and sharp-edged). Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original dust jacket (just slightly bumped on corners) and presented in a cream slipcase with gilt lettering. The slipcase is a little rubbed at edges and slightly soiled. Text in French and Arabic. A magnificently produced volume with 22 stunning colour plates, displaying some of the work of Mohammed Racim, the Algerian artist and calligrapher who founded the Algerian School for Miniature Painting with his brother, Omar. Racim, who had become a major figure in Algerian culture, and his wife were murdered in their home in 1975. .
