A collection of around 50 product catalogues issued by the firm Merryweathers and Sons. The catalogues themselves are not dated but the preceding index is dated 1919 and the catalogues appear consistent with that date. Each catalogue is several pages long, illustrated and full of the history and technical specifications of Merryweathers' products including fire engines, fire pumps, turntables, respirators, fire suds, road sprinklers, fire escapes, etc. Housed in a red cloth-covered binder with stamped gilt lettering on the front and spine, catalogues secured with punch pins. 8vo. The covers are worn and marked, rubbed and rounded at corners, fraying around spine ends and joints, a little marked. The front board has come away from the punch pins. The catalogues are sectioned but tabbed cards - the tabs are rubbed and worn. The catalogues themselves are neat, clean, bright and tight, showing just some mild and occasional signs of handling. A facinating collection, full of the history of fire-fighting equipment.
